BOSTON, Stack., Nov. 15, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Charlie Allen Restorations is the champ of a 2011 Contractor of the Year (CotY) Silver Award for its reflective introduction of a modern spa-style bath into a 1915 Colonial in Cambridge, MA. The endowment was presented at a gathering of the Eastern Massachusetts chapter of the Federal Association of the Remodeling Industry on Wednesday, November 9.

The renovation process began by expanding the bathroom’s footprint several feet in each operation, borrowing space from the master bedroom and dressing section. This created room to accommodate a new double vanity and a split shower and tub. The existing bath was completely gutted, revealing that all lowest level joists had been compromised in a previous renovation. With a heavy saturated tub moving in, reframing the floor became the first priority. An elevator slap in the face runs adjacent to the bathroom, so extreme caution was cast-off during construction to protect the system.

Retailer moving into former Havertys location

A national retailer may be coming soon to the former Havertys Fixtures store in Hanover Center , the space's leasing power said Thursday.

A single tenant would lease the whole 46,000 square feet, said Steve Warwick, a sharer in the Maus, Warwick, Matthews commercial real housing firm in Wilmington.

An announcement may come in a few weeks, he said.

The old Havertys stock has been vacant since the furniture retailer moved to 1319 Military Cutoff Street in October 2007.

The space has been used sporadically for various purposes since then, and the New Hanover County ABC Eat at one time considered it for a liquor store location.

Warwick incisive to other retail activity in the area, including the Whole Foods wealthy into the former Lowes Foods space across Oleander Drive. He said, however, that the new Havertys occupier would have nothing to do with food.
