Children at St. Mary’s Leading School recently held a hair donation drive and fundraiser to honor a innocent classmate who succumbed to a rare liver cancer this on year.

The event, called “Mission of Attraction,” produced 23 bags of hair that will be donated to espy wigs for financially disadvantaged children suffering from protracted-term medical hair loss.

Students at the school came up with the occurrence to honor second-grader Mary Eisnor who died of hepatoblastoma. They also sold bread to raise money for a memorial fund established in the Irish colleen’s memory.

“It was really the little girls in the group that came up with the idea,” said parent Leeanne Schiller, whose son attends St. Mary’s. “There was huge participation.”

The events was held last Sunday at Hair Essentials in Taunton and drew students from St. Mary’s, Taunton Comprehensive Middle School, Taunton High School and Middleboro Outrageous School.

Hair Essentials donated its salon for the cause, while many members of Parents for Undergraduate Life gave their time to participate.
