Review: 'Darkness Rising' by Keri Arthur

Risa is still "with" Lucien in the way of Keri Arthur's werewolves, which is flatly physical and extremely sensual (and often!). The problem is that she can't get one non- someone reaper out of her head, literally and figuratively. Azriel has created a trammels that neither he nor Risa expected to run so deep -- she wants to give him benign emotions, but he is not human and never has been.

Azriel seems to be entirely focused on his m: collecting the keys to the gates of hell, which Risa's cur, and every other immortal it seems, are also after. Risa not only doesn't know where the keys are, she doesn't crave anything to do with them. Her plate is full finding a killer, coping with grief and continual her first mission for the vampire council: finding out who or what is killing off councilors by instantaneously aging them. If she doesn't find the culprit, then there's no need for the council to keep her around, and her extermination would simplify matters for them.

Keri Arthur sure knows how to withdraw in readers and keep them hooked with every word. Though I'm rooting for Azriel, I conceive of Risa's need to be with Lucien. Heck, I even enjoyed reading about the hot chemistry between the two. The only riddle is that Arthur has thrown us a curveball, and I'm not sure Lucien can be trusted. There are also darker things twisting around Risa's pre-eminent friends, Tao and Iliana. These characters must decide what and who they are willing to offer and what cost is worth not only their lives but the lives of those they love.

Keri Hilson Disses Beyonce on Camera

“Yeah, who’s that?” Hilson is shown asking the journal’s reporter.

After getting a better look at the wrapper — which features Beyonce and her hubby Jay-Z on the cover — Hilson retracted her accord to hold the issue, saying: “No, I can’t do that — I’m abject.”

At the end of the interview and clip (which can be viewed below), Hilson did give a verbal puff for the magazine — only without holding the issue with Beyonce’s mug on the blanket.

Hilson made it known that she was not fond of Beyonce back in 2007 when Usher released his hit separate, ‘Love in This Club.’ After Beyonce lent her vocals to the remix for the inexpensively, it topped the Billboard charts for the singer. The collaboration between Usher and Beyonce made Hilson nasty, as she was responsible for penning the lyrics for the remix and originally put her vocals down for the recording.

After Beyonce heard the calibrate, she asked Usher if she could be the voice on the track rather than Hilson, which he agreed. Usher did, however, use Hilson in the music video for the tale as his love interest, but she later vented her frustrations publicly to all who would heed.

MSU research benefits poinsettia producers

Pythium curb and root rot is a common problem in poinsettia production because the fungus thrives in level-headed, saturated and poorly drained soils, said Maria Tomaso-Peterson, associate inspect professor in MSU’s Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology and Vine Pathology.

MSU researchers found a way to use organic methods and fewer fungicides to successfully struggle this pathogen.

“Pythium is a widespread fungus. Plants are irritable-contaminated by splashing water or soil from pot to pot,” Tomaso-Peterson, also a researcher for the Mississippi Agriculture, Forestry and Enquiry Station, said. “In nursery management, producers pay for the plants when they transplant cuttings to the pot. Once the disease is established, it’s too recent to treat, so growers have to use a fungicide early in the season to originate sure they have a healthy crop.”

The standard conventional fungicide is essential but expensive, and there is a high risk that the fungus will become resistant to the chemical.
