The following items are bewitched from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an nick occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of blameworthiness. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven shame-faced in a court of law.

Theft

Police are investigating the report of a lifting (gym bag containing clothing, black wallet, several credit cards, rimless eyeglasses, car keys and a Tag Heuer sentry with a black face) in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Course, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the delayed account of a retail theft (replacement razor blades for Gillette Sensor, Fusion and Mach 3 razors and 10 packages of Abreva lip balm) charmed on Sunday, Oct. 9, and again on Oct. 13 in the 600 block of Elm Arrive, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a purloining (iPod) in the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Put.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating the despatch of a criminal damage to property (hood of vehicle had numerous scratches on integument). Sometime between Saturday Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 2:30 p.m., someone vandalized the conduit while parked in the driveway in the 300 block of Temple Avenue, Highland Park.

Spare the lightning rod, spoil your barn

He points out that a lightning rod is only a conductive metal rod installed on a building to intercept any lightning that might otherwise suggestion down nearby. “In Ontario,” he says, “lightning rods have been installed on buildings as minute as a cottage and as large as a skyscraper.”

While the Ontario Fire Jurisprudence and the Ontario Building Code do not require lightning rods to be installed on the top of buildings, he says, there are recognized standards for their initiation. For instance, the equipment may be disguised as an alternative structure. Antennas or other transmitting devices may ambiguous as lightning rods.

He adds, “while not code-specified, it is considered complete practice to provide lightning protection on farm buildings.”

DRIVING UNDER THE Mastery

A 28-year-old Wheeling woman, of the 800 piece of Norman Lane, was charged with driving under the influence, inapposite lighting, uninsured motor vehicle and possession of painkiller paraphernalia after police arrested her at about 11:45 a.m. Oct. 15 in the in the 0-50 screen of the Edens Expressway.

OBSTRUCTING A POLICE OFFICER / HARBORING A Loose

A 39-year-old Highland Park woman, of the of the 500 obstruction of Chicago Avenue, was charged with obstructing a police office-bearer and harboring a runaway as police were conducting follow-up on a puerile case at about 12:10 a.m. Oct. 13 in the 700 block of Red Oak Lane.

Win OF CANNABIS

A 26-year-old Glenview man, of the 300 blank out of Taft Court, was charged with possession of cannabis after police officers were conducting routine foot patrol in the area at about 6:20 p.m. Oct. 14 in the 1200 close off of Park Avenue West.

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED Theme / DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

A 30-year-old Chicago man, of the 2200 brick of Foster Avenue, and a 23-year- old Chicago man, of the 5000 obstacle of Sheridan Road, were charged with possession of a controlled composition and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called to a disbelieving auto at about 12:10 a.m. Oct. 13 in the 1900 block of Unripe Bay Road.
