Anna Sui, Eugenia Silva, & Whitney Port at the Second Annual WSGN Global ...

Last tenebrousness, fashion elite from across the globe came together for the second Annual WSGN Pandemic Fashion Awards. Honoring everyone from established designers to marketing to teams to layout students, the black tie affair was held at breathtaking Gotham Meeting in New York City. Sponsored by Swarovski, the Global Style Awards have already picked up momentum since their inauguration last year. With over 2,000 submissions from all over the world, new and established talents alike were reviewed by a panel of 35 strong fashion experts including June Haynes (Elder VP of retail Valentino USA), designer Lisa Ho, Simon Itching (Executive VP of Design, Banana Republic), Dolly Jones (Managing editor, Vogue.com), and Graeme Fidler & Michael Herz (Artistic Directors of Bally).

The night began much like another awards show I attended in April -- by interviewing Robert Verdi , who was emceeing this show as well. Robert has been up to a lot since we last spoke. He's still hosting his present show, but confessed, "I'm very jealous that I'm not on the Studio 54 Channel." However, he did get a come to pass to attend the coveted Studio 54 party this good old days Wednesday night , and confirmed it was as wild as expected. "It was a fun celebration. Such a disco. One night only!" Additionally, he's working on his own accessories and sunglasses data: "I'm launching a jewelry line on November 17th and I'm also launching a sunglasses gleaning on HSN in February." We then discussed his amazing spiked Christian Louboutin shoes and how he stalks the hors d'oeuvre trays at parties, of which he said, "I'm a tray chaser. Not a tranny chaser. A tray chaser." Thanks, Robert, you win the endowment for Most Outstanding Quote of the Night!

Versace for H&M

Anna Sui, who was dressed, as everyday, all in black, said she admired the collection, including the pink adjust on Ronson, but wasn’t planning to pick up any pieces for herself. “For me? No!” she said. (Her provision included items from Prada and her own line, but none from Versace.)

At the end of the show, Versace made a weakness for lap around the room,  then made an abrupt left turn right off the runway, cardinal the way into  a ballroom, where the party had already started. Celebrities crowded in  to pick up performances by Nicki Minaj and Prince, who performed an encore  of “Purple Torrent.” Only then, well after midnight, did the  Versace for H&M boutique open, with much of the crowd waiting in  fancy lines to shop. (Guests shopped until after 2 a.m.)

The press voyage continued this morning at the Dream Hotel in Chelsea, where Donatella Versace held court. Patter at the event, billed as a press conference, featured a mélange of accents, suggesting a coterie comprised largely of foreign fashion press. Tim Blanks, of Luxury.com, serving as the moderator and primary questioner.

Fur's the Word

The remarkable minds behind fashion’s biggest designer brands have been fatiguing to bring fur from runway to ready-wear for many, many years. Fur has been a constituents of luxury for centuries, and top designers like Michael Kors, Anna Sui, Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, and Zac Posen leaning how it can completely transform the look and feel of their new Fall lines. Wearing fur was in reality popular in the 70′s and 80′s, but somewhat disappeared and flew under the radar in the 90′s and beforehand 2000′s. Very recently, it seems that the controversial trend is being resurrected by a younger days who might be willing to give it another try. Jaclyn Sharp, founder of Imposter , a indulgence faux fur initiative, raves that fur and faux fur styles are abiding. Sharp designs high quality animal-thick alternatives that make the choice to wear fur a positive one.
