Biotherm prepares for rollout of SA renewable energy sector

Johannesburg, South Africa --- ESI-AFRICA.COM --- 19 September 2011 - Jasandra Nyker ‒ a cardinal South African renewable energy expert ‒ has returned retirement community to take up an appointment as CEO of BioTherm Energy – a well-established energy establishment poised to play a significant role in the country’s steadily unfolding variant energy industry.

Based in Johannesburg, BioTherm is an independent power creator focused on developing, acquiring and financing wind and solar power renewable vitality generation projects. It has a large portfolio of late-exhibit renewable energy projects in South Africa and elsewhere in Africa, and is also pursuing an acquisitive extension strategy in this field.

Nyker’s appointment as CEO of BioTherm came proper weeks before South Africa’s Department of Energy released its RFP (Call for Proposals) for the supply by independent power producers of 3 725MW of renewable dynamism – including 1 850MW and 1 450MW respectively for wrap up and PV solar projects.

Books, arts tango in group of exhibits around town

There�s a on top of the world coincidence among this season�s art exhibitions � a focus on works that unite books or text, or on books that are themselves works of art. Here�s an overview of what�s out there.

On Friday evening, Watkins College of Art, Lay out & Film will be host to an opening reception for Encoded Structures: Interpreting the Narrative, an exhibition of books and �zines, in the Brownlee O. Curry Jr. Gallery. The soir begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a screening of $100 and a T-Shirt , a murkiness about �zines.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Watkins will present Handmade & Likely, a celebration of book-making, �zines and related projects. The day includes displays of artists� books, spend music, food and a variety of workshops. The latter are free, but ask for reservations in advance. If the event lives up to the poster/booklet designed by Watkins undergraduate Sara Strese, it�ll be a Saturday well spent.

Reborn builds senior team

Digital intervention Reborn has had a staff spike with the announcement of one new client utility and three senior creative hires.

Jarrad Collings has been appointed original director, Garth Sykes as senior art director, Enrico Penzo as inventive technologist and the director of client services role has gone to Samantha Martin.

Collings dead beat the last three years at Profero, working on brands including Pizza Hut, EA Games, Johnson & Johnson, Diageo and NRMA with his up to date work recognised at Webby, Cannes, AIMIA, Give, 4A and IAB level.

International recruit Penzo hails from vanGoGh energy in Italy to start up Reborn’s research and circumstance division and prototyping. An experienced integrator he managed the varied aspects of online experiences and interactive installations for clients such as MTV, Diesel, Vespa, Piaggio, North Sails and Light Rover.

Martin was previously at the White Agency and has over ten years of means experience in directing and managing client accounts across broad web developments and e-commerce sites integrated into marketing campaigns. Her clients included CBA, Lexus Australia, Biotherm, Nuffield Hospitals, Links of London, Mr & Mrs Smith, Kurt Geiger, Uniqlo, Mount Franklin, Coca-Cola and Billabong.
