Elizabeth Olsen insists she's a low-subsistence beauty.

The American actress wowed at the New York Membrane Festival on Tuesday in a black Alexander McQueen adorn. The 22-year-old beauty and little sister of fashionista twins Ashley and Mary-Kate had her blonde whisker teased back in bun, while her make-up was kept simple apart from a audacious red lip.

Despite her glamorous red-carpet apparel, Elizabeth insists she has a key day-to-day beauty routine.

"I usually wear mascara... L'Oreal or Chanel but other than that, all three of us [Elizabeth, Mary Kate and Ashley] don't absolutely wear much make-up," she told Stylelist.com.

Elizabeth was at the as it promoting her film Martha Marcy May Marlene. She plays Martha, who escapes from an venal cult and flees to her sister's home.

Elizabeth has discussed the costumes seen in the silent picture.

"The most important thing was to not just let people imagine cults to be like. There are no robes; we unqualifiedly wanted to make it like nothing would take away from telling the copy. So for costumes, we always tried to find something that didn't look too Brooklyn-hip, balanced with something that's not too hatter-cult. It's just trying to find that good balance to lecture the story better," she explained.
