Freshen your nails like a queen

Idol Nefertiti wore it. Cleopatra wore it. Even modern day Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, wears it.

And college girls across America today wear it.

So, what do we have in prevalent with these royals?

The answer is nail polish.

Invented over 5,000 years ago by the Ming Heritage, nail lacquer has been one of the longest and most successful fashion trends to this day. Chinese kingship wore colored nail polish in relation to the current heritage. The ancient Egyptians used nail lacquer to symbolize their prestige. Even Cleopatra used a red stain for her nails.

Although nail polish no longer suggests a affirmation of rank or royalty, it is still a necessary accessory for any outfit. Nina Garcia, attitude editor at Marie Claire, said that nail polish is “a theme of taste and appropriateness, so select wisely”.

Since we are now into fall, look upon choosing a darker shade when you decide to freshen up those nails. One of my favorites for this transitional stretch is Case Study by Essie. Its beige pigment works well with fall away’s hues of browns and burnt orange. You will be studying your nails all night-time long with this color.

Mindy Coffey’s seen a lot throughout her livelihood as a stylist in Columbus. The popularity of the mullet in the early 1980s was an aesthetic low drift, she said.

“They called it a ‘bi-level’ at that unceasingly a once,” she said, laughing. “It was unflattering.”

It’s been precisely 30 years since the age of the un-ironic mullet and since Coffey opened her first salon, called Crescendo of the Park, across from Schiller Park. The salon stayed in that discovery until this spring, when it took on a new name and moved to a bigger home a link of blocks away on South Pearl Street.

Now called Salon644, Coffey said she misses being so secluded to the German Village park but the new location has “my blood pumping again.”

The additional cubicle quarters allowed her to hire two new stylists, and Coffey and some of her clients planted a garden in the fenced-in backyard.

Salon644 gave away much of its first summer generate, which included zucchinis, tomatoes, herbs, mesclun greens and brussels sprouts. Clients waiting for color to set or nails to dry satisfaction in sitting among the garden’s flowers when it’s heated, Coffey said.

'Nailing' the right look with polish

I do think that your nail color selection should be “seasonably akin”.  In other words, if it is autumn, choose shades that suggest a sense of warmth…dark chocolate brown, strong tan, red and orange.  A French manicure is a year circuitous route staple…although, remember my previous lecture regarding the range of the white tip…less is more, ladies.

I hate to be the fun police, but, I firmly put one's trust in that unless you are age 12 or under, nail “art” is not for you. The airbrushing point is a little too “Jersey Shore” in my submissive opinion.

I think that it is mandatory to have your toes polished at all times.  You conscious how your mother wanted you to have nice underwear on in case you were ever (God hinder) in an accident? Well, I say add that your toes should NOT be bare in that scenario either.

And furthermore, do not value that the arrival of cooler weather and a closed toe shoe means no more pedicure.  Au contraire, my sugar-daddy.  Your feet in the winter require just as much sustenance as they do in the summer time.  No one wants to see a dry, flaky foot.  NOT Adorable.
