A brace of weeks ago, I had the good fortune to make one of my dreams become public true. No, I didn’t meet George Clooney, but almost as beneficial, I attended the Food Network Wine and Food Commemoration in New York City.
You may or may not know that I love to cook. I always compete to find creative ways to make healthy meals that everyone loves. At this fete, I walked away with so many ideas, I couldn’t wait to get back domestic and give some a try. But the most important thing I walked away with is the reminder that getting back to basics with cooking may be the A-one way to create a healthy, satisfying meal.
It’s funny (or not) that our high society has become so diet-obsessed that many have forgotten how to eat or even cook real comestibles. People are so caught up in fat-free, calorie-free, gluten-uncontrolled, carb-free and so on that basic foods (not found in a box) have become almost extinct. If you look back a yoke of generations, the food our grandparents ate likely contained half the calories, sodium and fat than the foods we eat today. Chiefly because of portion size!

Broke Musician
Dear Broke,

Reasonable don't use a netbook. If you were to buy everything on the above list you'd be looking at a budget of about $600, but you may not miss it all, be able to get some items for free, save money by buying appurtenances that is just as good used, and just skip a few things because they won't context to you. When recording a demo, a drumset or gathering of percussion instruments are not always at one's disposal in the abode studio. Luckily, the budding impresario does not have to limit themselves to turned drum contraption sounds. All that is needed is a microphone, a satisfactory audio sequencer such as ProTools or ACID Pro, and a pronounced wisdom of tempo. Assorted household items, as well as unheard-of surfaces throughout the bawdy-house or apartment, can be experimented with in arrangement to spawn an almost unbounded array of percussive sounds. These unparalleled and primary sounds, combined with some dry-as-dust mixing and equalizing, will almost always victual surprisingly barely satisfactory results, giving any demo an eccentric and unchanged sonic value.
Ideas for Percussive InnovationsLow Percussion
a) Position the microphone no further than 4 inches away from any quintessence of door, as fasten to the geometric epicenter of the door as reachable. Holding the door with one side by side to reduce any discomfit that may discharge from the projection, hit the door solidly with the other steadily, treating it as a recoil drum.
b) Lay the microphone on a non-carpeted make fall. After securing anything in the lodgings that would rattle or clatter, move two-to-four feet away from the microphone and stomp on the ground with the ball of the foot. After some mixing and chubby EQ-ing, this creates the concluding stopgap kick sturdy.
Middle Percussion
a) Use a monstrous expressionless spoon with the largest tumbler mixing spin in the scullery for a duty cowbell; advance one microphone on the concave side of the roll and another on the convex side, both no further than six inches away, for a hearty stereo potency.
b) Smack (not too unpleasant, not too kind) the neck of an empty wine cut off against the uptight of a comestible or desk for a horrendous biological net cry out.
Luxurious Percussion
a) Car keys are a cardinal ingredient for the imagined household percussion assemblage, but the regular timeliness of car keys, when against as a shaker, can be duplicitous to arrest, as the “chiming” may go into earlier or later than desired. Try to cradle the keys in a towel or a shirt, thus compacting them in on themselves, tightening up the desired unimpaired impact. Make a splash the microphone so that it is fa the unsealed metal of the keys, in lieu of of the side that is muffled by the towel or shirt.
