NEW YORK — Yes, she can! Or can she?
Amy Jellicoe, the scrambled ballerina of HBO’s comedy-drama Enlightened, has an explosive, tragicomic, mascara-streaked meltdown at her workplace in the series’ first disturbance. Then she takes refuge in Hawaii for several months at a New Age-y treatment mid-point to get her head back together.
Now she’s telling herself that she’s recovered and newly empowered. Off her meds, with her manic-the dumps in full swing, she’s back to reclaim her job as an executive for her corporation’s Health and Dream department.
But more than that, she’s ready to change the world.
"You can change," she proclaims. "And you can be an factor of change."
By turns funny, heartbreaking and rapturous, Knowledgeable is a portrait of a damaged woman who sets her sights on being an activist and not a sad fool; a woman who may be delusional or, instead, have found herself some valuable answers benefit sharing with the human race or maybe both. (It premieres Monday at 10:30 p.m.) As played by the major Laura Dern, Amy is endearingly quixotic in her mission as a would-be eco-warrior, while cringingly woeful to behold when trying to "clear the air" with the married boss with whom she had a unlucky affair, or when trying to master something as simple as a fax machine.

There’s the confrontation with her distant, judgmental mother, played by Dern’s veritable-life mother, Diane Ladd, who doesn’t need Amy to move home. There’s her drug-addled ex-husband, played by Luke Wilson, who isn’t in readiness to leave cocaine behind.
“He’s a semi-cute degenerate,” says Wilson.
There’s her former lover, who very doesn’t want to hear her apology or find “closure” over their tragic affair. And there are her new co-workers, corporate misfits who work as figure-crunchers in the windowless basement of the company’s Riverside, Calif., high-frequency-rise and don’t want to be reminded that the numbing, persistent nature of their jobs would drive anyone to the brink.

I have ben applying mascara for years & years; however, one territory that I have struggled in is getting both eyes the look nearly the same. As far as duration & curl is worried. I have often seen women with polished lashes! They are the same to the fullest extent a finally & curl, & are not pointing in all kinds of directions, as mine sometimes do. I am not predictable, but I do try to curl the lashes first (my curler is very likely 10 years old, I am not inescapable if that matters) for 10-15 seconds, then I try out 1-2 coats of mascara & then I comb them. How can I be bigger at this? I’d indeed like my eyes to spinney out, & in a very correct way! I have had this can of worms no argument what mascara I have in use accustomed to, & I admiration my simultaneous one. Please mitigate.
