Whether you prefer to dye your locks or not, going grey is no small deal for any women. So what happens when your pubic hairs come to a decision to join in the colour revolution?

In an article on the subject in the Everyday Mail, Judith Summers writes, "Call me naive, but it had never occurred to me that down-there hair turned pearly." But this is a fact that most women will have to face with age, along with the wrinkles and varicose veins.

When it does go on, lying about your age to potential dates will no longer be viable. Not if you aim on a good old romp under the covers. And even if this isn't your main worry, griseous hair down there just reminds us of our age and the threat of impending decrepitude.

So, what are the options for covering your dull short and curlies? If there are only a few, Summers suggests plucking them out, but if hair moving down there has you cringing, then there's always hair dye.

Summers discovered an interesting product called Betty — hair dye for your pubic sector. Nancy Jarecki, an American businesswoman, saw a gap for the product when she observed women walking out of hair salons with scarcely paper bags in hand. When she questioned the salon, they said it was measly bottles of hair dye to make the hair down there match their colour on top.

About 60% of women and 10% of men dye their hair, according to the Cosmetic Toiletry and Perfumery Syndicate. But this is not risk-free. It can cost a fortune and there's also the more serious risk of a full-blown allergic counterbalance (small at three per million) or skin irritation. More worrying are reports of an enlarge in miscarriage – and a rise in your likelihood of developing bladder cancer or a sort of blood cancer if you dye your hair more than nine times a year.

The dilemma: Nothing is without jeopardize – so do you really need to stop dyeing your hair? Semi-perpetual dyes wash out after six to 10 washes. The dyes that have been linked to cancer are invariable. They contain chemicals that penetrate the hair shaft and follicles and, in the poise of hydrogen peroxide, change the hair's colour. Most of these dyes admit compounds called aromatic amines, which we absorb a humiliated amount of, and then excrete in our urine.

Before the 1980s some hair dyes contained substances called arylamines that caused tumours in zoological studies. Studies in humans have found a link between lymphomas (a species of blood cancer) and dyeing your hair (one, in 2005, found a 26% spreading in lymphomas in those dyeing their hair more than 12 times a year – but only in people who started dyeing their hair before the 1980s when more chancy chemicals were used, although the authors of the study could not identify which chemicals to sidestep). But a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association , also in 2005, which added up the results from 71 studies did not find well-founded evidence of an increase in bladder cancer or lymphomas – although it found a very peewee association. Other studies suggest some people, because of certain genes, may be more at jeopardize of developing lymphomas (30 percent more) if they use hair dye – uncommonly darker, heavier dyes. In 2007 the European Commission, which regulates hair dye was twitchy enough to ban 179 chemicals because of concerns that manufacturers could not sustain they were safe..

Huntington-Whiteley careful with cosmetics

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley hates being "dog-tired" by make-up and clothes.

The British model-and-actress has a failsafe belle regime when it comes to looking her best. The beauty is stingy with products.

"I don't like to be worn by make-up or worn by clothes," she told People.

"It's all about enhancing what you have. I scantiness to feel as close to my natural self as I can at all times. So, unless I'm doing a ridiculous photo shoot, I want to feel like myself."

Rosie prefers a appropriate look. The 24-year-old shies away from mask on her lips.

"It's not my favourite piece of make-up," she revealed. "I don't [put] anything on my lips… I have in mind it can get a bit much."

Rosie has revealed her day-to-day routine. The stunning star is serious about the maintenance of her eyebrows above anything else.

"It's one thing that I always pay close attention to," she said. "If you can't give to maintain your hair, don't dye it. I really am very conscious about wearing sun cream. I find it deep down important to religiously moisturise and exfoliate."
